When my personal life crashed and burned back in the day, I had my best season ever. Hoops was the only place I could "not" think about my personal life. I took out my frustrations on the court. Here's hoping that Luka gets his personal life sorted as quickly as possible, though.

Too many of the #Cavs best players all playing shooting guard. And Kenny clearly wants to keep playing all of them.
#Cavs Kenny Atkinson admitted it again tonight. He can’t play 10 in the playoffs. That means a lineup squeeze is coming. It’s tricky. It’s delicate. Still being decided. But 1 of those *five* spots has already come into focus. It will belong to Max Strus https://t.co/gAi3U3Mkln

Mobley is who he is, a great defensive player but merely good on offense, with incremental improvement each year. He has never had a fluid shot or moves on offense to think a leap is coming. This year is a realization of the player he is instead what the #Cavs projected him to be
"He has taken a step backwards this year, like I'm expecting him to take that leap," - @KendrickPerkins on Evan Mobley.

Trading DG was simply a recognition that 2 bigs and 2 small guards was not going to result in a championship. Allen's absence has shown that of the 2 bigs, Allen is actually more important to the #Cavs than the current version of Mobley, even if Mobley is a better overall player.
Kenny Atkinson on Jarrett Allen, who has been out for nearly two weeks with a knee issue: “I still think it’s day-to-day…I don’t anticipate this to be long term.” Called it pretty severe tendinitis.

I know I am beating a dead horse, but as awesome as it was to get Max back, he plays the same position as Donovan, Keon, Sam, let alone Tyrese Proctor. #Cavs only have so many minutes available, so who is going to lose minutes? Kenny gonna start playing 4 shooting guards soon 😢.

I absolutely hate Kenny's 3-guard lineup obsession for the #Cavs. And 4-guard lineups are just mind-boggling since we have size and rebounding issues already at full strength.

Fully agree. I know Kenny is the coach of the year and we aren't but I don't understand why the #Cavs didn't just start Tyson and Wade. With Tyson's development, we didn't need Merrill's shooting in the starting lineup. Wade is still too inconsistent on offense and rebounding.
KA and the Cavs front office have years of data showing that when the Cavs play positionally average or better size wise, they perform well. Yet, per Fedor and snippets from interviews, feels like he’s determined to play small and go against what is seemingly best for the team.

I obviously didn't watch the game but I still find this unimaginable. I read several mentions of Bam scoring 83 and thought it was an early April Fools joke. Congrats on an amazing performance, but how??

Heat big man Bam Adebayo just put up the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, with 83 points in a win over the Wizards.

Does anyone understand the #NFL salary cap? So can the #Cavs restructure Mobley or Mitchell’s contracts to get around the salary cap and get out of the second apron and sign some free agents next year?

The Browns have restructured Deshaun Watson's contract to reduce his $80M cap charge.

Random #Cavs thoughts. Tyson is a better version of what we wanted from Hunter. Schröder is a way better version of Lonzo. Keon is a better version of Okoro. Bryant is what we wanted from LNJ. Harden is more important to the team than DG was. Massive upgrades, even in 2nd apron.

I hate Kenny’s continual attempts at 3 and 4 guard lineups with an absolute passion.
#Cavs are currently deploying a lineup where either James Harden or Keon Ellis is the power forward. Kenny Atkinson with the lab coat on cooking up some experiments today.

#Cavs loss to the Thunder was almost to be expected and no big deal in the long run. It did show that 3-guard lineups with no POA defense and 2 bigs who don’t get big rebounds when it matters were the same problem before the trade deadline. Kenny still has some work to do.

Keon and Schröder, along with Tyson, are not afraid of OKC’s physicality. Huge difference. Jarrett Allen is still though 😢.

That #Pistons victory at the #Knicks last night, with Duren and Stewart out, confirmed what many of us suspected. They are the best team in the East this year. Whether that makes them the favorite to make the Finals is a different story. Remember last year's #Cavs?
Detroit Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff on Cade Cunningham: “He’s a superstar and there’s no doubt about it. It’s hard for me to think of five guys in this league that do more on both ends than he does. He guards the other team’s best perimeter player. Offensively, the ball is in

3 on 3 in OT? Imagine if the #NBA had something similar. So hard to imagine. https://t.co/v1SwkwpMDw

A key reason for the #Rockets is that they didn't replace FVV when he got injured. They lack a real point guard and their overall talent sometimes masks it by winning anyway. Same with the #Wolves. Dosunmu replaces NAW but they still don't have a real point guard.
This week’s Howdy Partners with @mikecwright: No ceiling on Wemby and the Spurs, this might not be the Rockets’ year and the Cuban/Dumont divide deepens:

Everyone is missing another thing. The #Core4 was on a timeline with each salary going up. Unsustainable. By trading Garland for Harden, #Cavs still have a Core4 on the court, but with one salary which will be declining. Crucial for team-building and filling out the roster.

Tanking rant 2: Among others, Windy's "Flip" solution doesn't make sense. It changes the value of wins and losses around a date in the calendar. All games should have equal motivation to win. Tanking earlier in the season to win games later? That's exactly what will happen.
This tanking strategy was happening at the end of March last year. Now it’s happening in early FEBRUARY. How soon before teams quiet-quit the Christmas Day games?

Tanking rant 1: I am so tired of the debate about tanking in the #NBA. Everybody coming up with PHD-level solutions misses the point. Flatten the lottery completely so that all lottery teams have an equal chance. No one will ever be able to increase their chances by losing. Ever.
Column: Nearly a third of the NBA is in a race to the bottom. Before the All-Star break. That's not a tanking problem. That's an epidemic.
