Over 100 years later the charity is still supporting staff going through tough times, because they are there for all of us in our times of need.

Why do we support nurses and midwives? Cavell was established in 1917 as a fund for nurses in honour of WWI British nurse, Edith Cavell. The fund was intended for nurses “shattered mentally and physically, who have sought the health of others at the expense of their own.”

Doing just enough is good enough if you’re finding things tough or you’re feeling rough.

Lead Neonatal Research Nurse Marie won a Cavell Star Award for her work leading on projects in neonatal care, including a parent empowerment project aimed at supporting parents of premature babies. Thank you for all you do, Marie! 🙌
