The govt hoped that spreading false fiscal black hole rumours would help lower expectations for the Budget and allow them to raise taxes to fund welfare — but instead they got in way deeper than intended, the speculation backfired and they’ve been caught out lying. Scandalous.

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter Whittle, founder and director of the New Culture Forum. Peter passed away yesterday evening surrounded by his loved ones. It is hard to overstate the impact Peter and the NCF have had on Britain’s cultural and

BREAKING The OBR says it informed Rachel Reeves as far back as ***September 17*** that the downgrade in productivity forecasts was offset by 'increases in real wages and inflation'. The deficit was in fact just £2.5billion By October 31 that deficit had turned into net positive

Astonishingly, GB News beat Sky News and the BBC News channel yesterday - on Budget Day. GBN had a larger audience share across the whole day, BBC News was second, and Sky News third. A day like Budget Day historically saw audiences flock to the old guard. No longer.

This is pretty shocking — young, productive Brits in their prime are leaving in droves for better opportunities overseas.

The welfare bill is, give or take £10bn, now much the same as the income tax take. Pretty much every penny in income tax paid by these working people Reeves care about so much... goes to a welfare recipient.

Rachel Reeves is just a total liar. Removing the two child benefit cap means that hard working people who want to have more children than they do, are taxed even more to give money to those who can’t afford to pay for their own children. If you want to help poor children grow

Kemi Badenoch points out Rachel Reeves is now paying more to borrow than at any point under the fourteen years of the Conservatives.

The OBR shows how under this government, borrowing costs have soared to the highest of any major advanced economy. Debt was cheaper under Truss.

Labour was elected into power last year promising £8.5bn in tax rises and insisting no major hike was coming if they won. They did so after the IFS had warned of a £20bn black hole. Reeves has increased taxes by £66bn across two Budgets.

More welfare spending. More debt. More inflation. More tax. All because the government won’t face down its own (economically illiterate) backbenchers, the majority of whom will not be on the green benches in four years time.
