Congrats to Samuel on his NIH F30!!
Filled with gratitude and excited for my F30 from @nih_nhlbi to study “Nox4 and Epigenetics in chronically enhanced cardiac protein O-GlcNAcylation” ❤️🔬🩺 Couldn’t have been possible without support from @UABMSTP @UABPathology @UABExerciseMed @TheWendeLab🎉

During the pandemic, I started an online undergraduate course at the Korea National Open University and majored in AI (When it started, the major name was applied data engineering). Finally, I got BE diploma filled with overnight studying, exams, cramming, and tears.

Congratulations Dr. Potter!🎉🎓
Congratulations to my now former student Dr. Potter! Very proud of how @LukeSkyrunner defended his thesis in his private defense today. It was great having him in @TheWendeLab through his training and I wish him the best of luck as he starts his next stage as a bioinformatician!

It's been almost 12 years since we started our efforts to generate Son KO mice, which had tons of obstacles. Finally, sharing our publication on the first Son+/- mouse model!😃 Hope this model can contribute to ZTTK syndrome research and SON biology! https://t.co/kQUW6mQZAP

A study in the journal @NatureAging, led by Daniel Tyrrell, Ph.D., @dantyrr, assistant professor, Molecular & Cellular Pathology, has shown that CD8 T cells are necessary and sufficient to enhance atherosclerosis in aging. Read the @UABNews story: https://t.co/yWFlNgH1vO

It is such a privilege to learn from @Dr_RajatGupta. In this review, we highlight the known mechanisms linking CAD-relevant SNPs and endothelial (dys)function, underscoring the exciting potential of CRISPR-based screens to accelerate these discoveries.

Have a look at our new research paper! 😎 It is telling about short/long term exposure of protein O-GlcNAc in heart (yes, we had to wait for 6 months).
Enhanced cardiac protein O-GlcNAc is sufficient to induce hypertrophy, fibrosis, mitochondrial and diastolic contractile dysfunction. #AHAJournals @CardioMyocyteHa @JohnCChatham @AdamWende @UABHeersink @UABPathology
