A special moment for West Washington football coach Phillip Bowsman who passed away on Monday. Southwestern doesn't have football, so they decided to light up the basketball court instead.

I wonder if having the Senate vote down witnesses and evidence wouldn't work in the Dems' favor, politically? The American people have gotten a chance to see the case up close (which hurts Trump with Independents) and a sham trial can be used against the vulnerable R senators.
Former Mr. Basketball from Jeffersonville and head coach at Shawe Sherron Wilkerson has been named the head boys basketball coach at Madison. He was approved by the board on a 5-0 vote.

Is there anything y'all don't complain about? Two weeks ago, you weren't even in. Enjoy it.
I will never understand the logic of putting your JV and bench players into the final minute of a blowout only to have them hold the ball. Doesn't make even a small bit of sense. Either let the JV play or leave the starters in there to hold it. There's no middle ground.
Danny Gibson has been hired as the new head boys basketball coach at Madison. Gibson graduated from Madison in 2002 and is believed to be the first former Madison player to coach the Cubs in over 80 years.

My wife, the talented Nina Campbell has done a fantastic job on all of these player of the year photos for the past year, but this might be my favorite that she has ever taken. I didn't use it for the article, but I want the world to see it!
A friendly piece of advice for all you high school coaches out there: If you're not willing to talk to newspaper after a game, don't expect to get much coverage. I came out to your game, the least you can do is talk for a second.
Jon Moore has been named the new boys basketball coach at Carroll Co. Moore comes from Clark County, where he was an assistant. He has also been an assistant at Dunbar and Franklin Co. as well as with the Kentucky All-Star Team.

It's been an interesting 13 months away but I'm pleased to announce that I am officially back full-time with The Madison Courier. We had a lot of fun while we were away but now we're glad to back.
Good luck to

Just found out that I had a coach refuse to comment after the game yesterday because they were upset about their coverage this season.
Same coach hasn't sent anything into the paper in FOUR YEARS.
Classy.
Big thanks to
@cubsAD
for this award tonight. It has been my pleasure to cover the Cubs for nearly half my adult life. Who knows? Maybe we'll meet again! Thanks again to all the coaches, players, fans and administrators that made it a special time!

Just a friendly note to the anonymous Trimble County cross country fan who left a voicemail for me: I know that "Raiders" is the school's mascot. "Harrier" is another word for a cross country runner.
Thanks for your attention in this matter.
The KHSAA Board of Control has voted to approve Trimble County's move from the 29th District to the 31st District. Big news for the school which get away from the large Oldham County schools will now face Carroll Co., Owen Co., Gallatin Co., Henry Co. and Eminence in the tourney.
In any other year we'd have hydroplanes on the water right now in Madison.
Well, more likely we'd be sitting around waiting for hydroplanes to get on the water, but the point stands.
Fun fact: Madison High School had girls basketball (1901-02) before it had boys basketball (1903-04). Not too many public schools can claim that distinction.

Just found out this was because I criticized their softball lights. Guess what, your soccer lights are terrible as well and you shouldn't be allowed to host the sectional in either sport because of them. And every other school agrees with me.
After two years away, baseball is back! The high school baseball season begins today as Southwestern hosts Henryville.
Today also marks Dan Thurston's coaching debut at Southwestern.
