@AsmaBegumLabour asks the petitioner if he is aware that the council under the previous Labour administration a wider roll out of school streets was planned but was cancelled by the current Aspire administration and in fact some schemes were removed

Interesting story here for Tower Hamlets folks. Given recent events, it would be no surprise if ministers want a update whether there is any real progress towards fixing the serious governance failings in the Town Hall under Mayor Rahman + his Aspire cllrs

Fantastic to be out campaigning with @CllrMarcFrancis and @Lauma_KT in Bow East! Team Bow East are out every week - listening, taking action, and standing up for residents. Brilliant to see such a warm welcome for our @TH_Labour Mayoral candidate @CllrSirajIslam đđžđš

I just chaired a busy meeting with Bow West residents and the Bow Neighbourhood Safety police team. Constructive conversations linked priorities of local residents with the police including speeding, anti-social behaviour in the Malmesbury estate and retail crime by the station

Out in Bow this evening with @BowwestLabour, lots of concern from residents about housing and Clarion failing to address repairs, and fly tipping.

In July, we were told the creation of a drug rehab centre in Roman Road market wasn't a 'key decision' as it didn't affect two wards. Have just heard that the future of the Hackney Road hostel in a ward represented by an Aspire cllr is now a key decision as it impacts two wardsđ¤
Thanks to âŚ@TheSliceTowHam⊠for publishing our concerns about Tower Hamlets Councilâs refusal to engage with Bow residents before opening a Substance Misuse Recovery Centre in the old One Stop Shop or consider its impact on Roman Road market

Just got my copy of @Uma_Kumaran's report on her first 12 months as our MP for Stratford & Bow. Lots of strong contributions in Parliament on key national + international policy issues and thousands of individual constituents helped already. Look out for your copy!

After nearly 10 years helping tenants trying to get Clarion Housing to deal with the subsidence affecting the front walls of its houses on Fairfield Rd, i am pleased this work has finally been completed - and done quite nicely too. Next step, weatherproof windows and patio doors!

Stop the closing of Bethnal Green Police Stationâs front desk.@CllrSirajIslam & @unmeshdesai have called on the Met to pause the closure, publish a full impact assessment and meet residents. Face-to-face policing matters. #TowerHamlets #ProtectOurDesk
Bethnal Greenâs 24-hour front desk is a lifeline for residents. Today @CllrSirajIslam and @unmeshdesai have written to DM Comer-Schwartz and AC Twist, calling on them suspend its closure and carry out a full impact assessment. #ProtectOurDesk #TowerHamlets

Its now a thousand days since Mayor Lutfur Rahman declared a "waste emergency". Despite this and spending an additional ÂŁ5 million, refuse + recycling collections continue to be missed, including this pile which has still been left even after being reported 4 times. #NotBestValue

Bow east councillors have outlined in @TheSliceTowHam how once again Bow residents are being ignored and not given a voice on the decisions made about their local neighbourhood. In this case, the council's refusal to engage with residents on the substance misuse recovery centre.

We've had another few sessions talking to residents in Bow over the last couple of weeks. Alongside issues over housing, new concerns were raised over extended, indefinite mobility issues as the council fails to install charging points in its notified timeline.

Tower Hamlets is one of the most diverse and resilient boroughs in the country - but too often, itâs in the news for bad local governance. In my latest @ELAdvertiser column, I ask whether our local services are really working for residents. đď¸ https://t.co/Jbo5O6rqUp (page 12)

Each time we stand up in this House to question the Foreign Secretary there is a new horror in Gaza unfolding. I welcome increased humanitarian funding from the UK Government. But the situation on the ground is barbaric. Yesterday I asked, where is this Governmentâs red line?

Really frustrating that the poor management of Wednesday's Full Council meant we didn't get to debate our motion on Mayor Rahman's failure on social housing. We will come back to it, but meanwhile tenants + homeless families will continue to suffer thru the lack of accountability
At next week's Full Council, @TH_Labour cllrs will expose Mayor Lutfur Rahman's catalogue of failure on social housing. For 3 years, tenants, leaseholders, homeless/overcrowded families have been made big promises. Yet nothing has been delivered. Someone must be held accountable

We welcome the first Ministerial Envoysâ report assessing council improvements. â ď¸ Progress made, but transparency and governance still major concerns. Mayor Lutfur Rahman must urgently address ongoing issues to meet residentsâ expectations. đ
