Lions feel decidedly stupider this season, can't lie. A lot more of this dumb stuff than there used to be.
Here’s the video of Amon-Ra St. Brown swinging on Daron Payne a few plays before Payne swung back and got ejected. This tells the other side of the story.

For anyone criticizing the Eagles player for picking up that ball (think it was Gibson), once the Packers touched it jt’s “illegal touching” and no matter what happens, at worst Eagles get the ball from that spot. So it’s a really smart play by the punt returner.

Even if he hadn’t done that, it’s a smart play by the returner to grab that football. You can still return the punt and you *cannot* lose possession or yardage on a punt after the kicking team touches the ball. Literally no risk to the return team.
