So when someone calls a scripted Notion-GPT combo an agent, correct them. That’s a workflow with AI, not an AI agent.

True AI agents have:. A feedback loop (think, act, repeat). Autonomy (they choose what to do next). Memory (they learn from past steps). Access to tools (APIs, web, code, etc.).

The confusion happens because tools like Zapier, Notion AI, and Make use AI models. But they don’t make autonomous decisions. They follow a fixed sequence.

The key difference is:.Workflows are step-by-step. Agents decide the steps. Workflows run instructions. Agents form strategies.
