A national research center, co-led by Dr. @LMWeinstockPhD, is piloting an intervention to help people navigate family legal issues. The idea is to prevent involvement w/the criminal, juvenile or child welfare systems – and ultimately, suicide risk. More:

The Family Law Navigation Model, a pilot project developed by a Michigan State University researcher, provides early intervention in family legal issues to keep them from becoming more complicated.

@CRISPatBrown faculty report BL data from n=800 in the SPIRIT trial. ~50% reported a suicide attempt 30 days prior to enrollment; most (85%) of which were prior to arrest. Given short jail stays, data 🔦 the need for effective post detention svcs.
