Crews are currently battling a reignition of a protracted incident involving wildland, near to Hethersgill. The fire involves pete and scrubland over a large area. Carlisle East, Carlisle West, Brampton, Longtown, Penrith, Keswick, Siloth and Appleby are in attendance.

Great work by crews from Keswick, Patterdale, Penrith and Appleby last night working through the early hours to extinguish a challenging fire on the side of Ullswater. A reminder that disposable BBQs should not be taken out into open countryside!
Unfortunately this was the result of two disposable BBQs on the fell side. With the hot weather and the large number of visitors we are expecting over the coming weeks, we respectfully ask everyone to be aware of the potential dangers and act responsibly 🙏♨️🏕
