What did we find? Alongside reading and writing, students engaged in metacognitive processes, particularly at the beginning of the task and during reading. Metacognitive processes of planning and evaluation were rarely observed, despite their importance in writing tasks. 4/5

How? We analyzed digital trace data from 179 students across three European countries, using rule-based AI labeling to identify SRL processes. 3/5
