AB 667 has come a long way, and we are proud to have the bill authored and championed by Assemblymember Solache and endorsed by the Economic Mobility for All (EM4A) Coalition.

In California, about 45% of the population speaks non-English languages at home. AB 667 is a step closer to ensuring that language is not a barrier in attaining professional and vocational licensure and increasing access to a linguistically and culturally competent workforce.

This bill aims to make more license examinations accessible in non-English languages by allowing interpreters to help individuals understand the examination materials in their preferred language.

Currently, only 20 out of hundreds of license examinations in California offer some form of language access for individuals whose preferred language is not English.

GOOD NEWS: AB 667, which ensures that more Californians can pursue career fields of their choice without language being a barrier, advances to the Senate floor! . We thank the California Senate Appropriations Committee for passing AB 667 out of the Senate Suspense File!
