Crime in Oakland is down 34%, a significant drop thanks to ongoing efforts by state and local leaders. I am grateful for CHP’s operations that have delivered results, and as Chair of Senate Public Safety Committee, I welcome efforts to further improve the safety of our cities.
California is expanding @CHP_HQ teams in key regions to bring down crime. We've seen what success looks like when investing in strategic community partnerships, and with this next phase, we're continuing the work to improve public safety throughout the state.

Through Prop 1 funding, California has allocated $7.1M towards Oakland's newest Homekey development, converting a motel into 23 units of supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness. Since Homekey's launch, 490 affordable units have been created in Oakland.
HCD today announced 3 Homekey+ awards totaling $75.5M to help fund 200 permanent supportive homes and services for veterans and other Californians experiencing or at risk of homelessness and living with behavioral health challenges. 1/3 @CAbcsh
