Professor Tom Griffiths @cocosci_lab did an awesome job wrapping up the keynotes by talking about how meta-learning can create more human-like AI systems. He showed this through many examples demonstrating how meta-learning can support learning abstract relations. #AAAI2025

Professor Cleotilde Gonzalez gave an amazing talk on how complementary human-AI collaboration can benefit cognitive AI and vice versa. She showed this through instance-based learning, which we saw for tasks such as disaster response and avoiding phishing attacks. #AAAI2025

Professor Sudeep Bhatia gave an incredible talk on how AI, LLMs, and cognitive science can be used to analyze human decision-making in many important contexts. There are many great insights; we’ll definitely use his team’s models for our next big life decision. #AAAI2025

@PeterStone_TX @smdvln @mark_ho_: basic research on mechanisms behind behavior requires lab studies (experimental control is important for this). @PeterStone_TX: collecting and publishing important empirical data should be incentivized more.

Controlled lab settings vs real-world deployment. @PeterStone_TX: undergrad participants are seldom representative of the population. Real world-derived datasets are likely more trustworthy @smdvln: big data from the real world can be painful to clean.
