I still can’t catch my breath after finding out that the fabulous @SOJseaside liked my work and described it as “cinematic in scope” - she has worked with some amazing authors, including Sarah Waters! Aaaaaah!!

I love that my daughter is growing up to love reading (almost!) as much as me 😊 Here she is on World Book Day raving about her favourite author ⁦@sophyhenn⁩ and her favourite character Bad Nana 💕💕 #badnana #worldbookday

To celebrate #WorldBookDay the girls were given a choice of activities to complete & Josie in Y4 was certainly inspired! She has sent a letter to her favourite author, read in an unusual place,...

The practice of turning nonconforming individuals into non-persons has been used with great effectiveness for centuries, none more so than the punishment of excommunication by the Roman Catholic Church. #CancelCulture #HistoricallySpeaking @WSJ https://t.co/TjzvajET3H

There were no awareness days for today so I thought I'd show another one of my favourites from the collection. This beautiful oil on panel painting is called 'Study of Delphiniums' by Caroline Emily Gray Hill. 1843-1924.

Welsh dragons and Liver birds: a gorgeous poster by Harry Hughes Williams for the Eisteddfod, Liverpool 1929. Imagine Welsh male voice choirs in Sefton Park! Can we do this again? @Oriel_Mon 🐉

I find this photograph of Dickensian London spellbinding. It was taken c.1865 - the year Abraham Lincoln was assassinated & Lewis Carroll's Alice made her first trip to Wonderland. Such a rumble-tumble of houses and histories, so many of our ancestors, it is quite magical 😍

The Central Board of Health show a complete disregard for hygiene during a feast-laden meeting about whether #London should be quarantined to stop the spread of #cholera - These men appointed despite "utter ignorance of the history of epidemic and contagious diseases". (1832)
