Just booked myself an AstraZeneca vaccine appointment at midday today in Canberra!!!! I called a local GP clinic taking part in the rollout, they had heaps and heaps of available appointments and were happy to sign me up for quick consult and the jab 😬😬😬

I feel safer already! Super easy booking my AstraZeneca vaccine today. Explained to GP I (gratefully) don’t have underlying health conditions, GP was super clear on the side effects and what to look out for, and I’m happy to do my part! 💉 First dose: ☑️ Second dose: Booked!

GPs gave out more COVID-19 jabs in a week than have been given to aged care residents since the vaccine rollout began more than a month ago. Australia passed 507k jabs on Friday, of which 97k were delivered by 1,100 GP clinics who'd only came online five days earlier.

Only 19 new #COVID19 cases in Australia in the past 24 hours. The total number of cases nationally is now 6746, with 89 deaths. There are 104 patients in hospital, 40 in ICU and of those 26 are on ventilators. There have been about 544,000 tests completed. @dailytelegraph

I spoke to drivers who work for Transport for NSW, which looks after the passengers, last week and they confirmed they had never seen the private drivers undertake the same stringent measures (N95 masks, constant deep cleaning of vehicles, not handling passengers' luggage)

How good is science. Both vaccines offer "very high" protection against Covid-19 over time. With Pfizer dropping off an enormously effective base slightly, and AstraZeneca maintaining its high efficacy. We love to see it

#BREAKING PM Scott Morrison says National Cabinet has agreed to keep all current baseline restrictions as they are for next 4 weeks. States who have opted to enforce measures differently (I.e some making gatherings of 2 people “advice” vs “law”) may make some changes in that time

Health Minister Greg Hunt says latest official #coronavirus stats for Australia is 6068 confirmed cases and 51 deaths. About 260 people in hospital, 82 of these in ICU including 35 on ventilators. The hospitalisation/ serious case numbers have dropped since earlier “peak”
