We were all shocked to hear of the shark attack in Elizabeth Bay this week. My thoughts are with the swimmer, Lauren, and I wish her a speedy recovery. I also commend the heroic efforts of neighbours and emergency service workers who came to her aid.

It is absurd that 100+ people have been arrested for peacefully protesting against the most serious issue of our time. We must phase out fossil fuels faster, fairly, and forever. I support peaceful protests and the @RisingTideAus blockade of the world’s largest coal port.

I’m horrified to hear of fellow NSW councillors making blantantly homophobic remarks at a recent conference. And I’m proud of Councillor Adam Worling for calling out this shameful behaviour, and being a leader for the LGBTIQA+ community.

What a pleasure to ride the light rail for the first time with one of its key architects: Danish urbanist Jan Gehl!. Big ideas change cities, and I am proud of the city Sydney has become through a bold vision, and careful, considered planning.
