Have yet to cast a ballot today so if any candidates still have money left in their campaign coffers after all the annoying commercials and texts with which I’ve been bombarded want my vote, feel free to Venmo/Zelle/CashApp me.
I’m Andrew Wagner and I approve this message.
For those who grew up here in Milwaukee, did you ever think a time would come when a Brewers team would be Ho-hum about clinching a playoff berth because there were bigger goals to be met? Kind of incredible to think about how far this franchise has come.
Brewers finish 2021 with total attendance of 1,824,282 - down 38% from 2019 largely because of reduced capacity earlier in the season - but still keeping Milwaukee among the top 10 in all of MLB once again despite playing in baseball’s smallest market.
Didn’t realize until just now that
@BAndersonPxP
has behind the mic for Brewers broadcasts for 15 years.
BA. Rock. Sophia. Craig. Matt LePay. Now Tim Dillard and Vinny Rottino. Not to mention Uecker. Jeff. Lane.
Brewers fans are spoiled with some quality broadcast talent.
Let’s also not forget Sen. Kohl. Like him. Don’t like him. Sports, politics or groceries. Doesn’t matter. He took a lot of financial losses to keep the team here before finding a group he thought he could trust to keep the team here.
Kolten Wong has been worth every penny this season. He just ripped a bases-loaded single into right field, driving in a pair and giving Milwaukee a 7-5 lead in the eighth.
Loudest cheer of the night - and rightfully so - goes to this little kicker of asses. Bravo. Now somebody buy that child a beer. (This is Milwaukee, afterall)
Keston Hiura, Orlando Arcia and Jonathan Lucroy are playing against each other in a Triple-A Game tonight. None are on a rehab assignment.
Baseball is weird.
Source confirms the report that the Brewers will open the 2020 season on July 24 against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Game will be broadcast on ESPN, which was slated to carry the Sunday, March 29 Brewers-Cubs game from Miller Park for its first Sunday Night Baseball broadcast.
Packers have Rodgers.
Brewers have Yelich.
Bucks have Giannis.
If you're around my age (41) and have kids ... take a moment to think about those teams when you were your kid's age. And tell your kids how lucky they are.
A good time for a reminder: without the Pettits building the Bradley Center, the Bucks might not be here today. Yes, it was built for an NHL franchise that never happened but it was a gift and kept Milwaukee an NBA city.
We lost our friend
@ByJoeDiGiovanni
this week after one of the most noble battles the c-word has ever seen. He asked me to take this shot for him ahead of G1 of the NLDS because he was so damn proud to have made it.
Blood transfusion yesterday, covering the NLDS today.
@ByJoeDiGiovanni
is treating cancer like the Brewers bullpen treats opposing batters.
@SU2C
Kind of snuck up on me that Sunday marks one year since I lost my father and by quirk of the calendar, it’s also Fathers Day so toasting both my old man and those of you also marking this day without your father - especially for the first time - here’s to you, and our dads.
Since Twitter is full of Mother’s Day wishes and posts, here’s a little shout-out to all of us who no longer get to celebrate with our moms, or even give a call. Especially those new to “the club...” thinking of all of you today, as well.
Just talked to
#Brewers
top prospect Jackson Chourio & his agent, Cesar Suarez. They couldn't confirm an imminent deal but didn't dispute what's been reported so far. As for potentially signing an historic contract so early in his career, here's what Chourio had to say:
Counsell on the Hader trade: "We didn't get that right. It didn't work. We have to own it. ... But that doesn't mean the goal isn't to get to the playoffs every single year."
Uecker has the breakdown on the Woodruff ejection:
“The salutations from Brandon Woodruff to Quinn Wolcott are what (the ejection) were all about. … a couple of ‘happy halloweens’ got him a ‘see you later’”
Perhaps the most amazing stat of Sabathia’s 17-game run with the Brewers:
SEVEN complete games.
SEVEN.
(And, he’d already thrown three for Cleveland before the trade, giving him 10 in 34 starts that season).
Asked Brewers CEO Rick Schlesinger if the naming rights deal meant there would continue to be no Budweiser at Miller Park. His response was marvelous: “I’ve never heard of it.”
If you’re the type who talks sh*t to a meteorologist when a storm -- a force of nature, mind you -- shifts course, there is something incredibly wrong with you. Be grateful we don’t have to shovel as much.
The meteorologists at Weather Watch 12 take great pride in forecasting. At times, it can be very humbling. This is one of those times. We are no longer expecting the big totals of snow. It will still snow this evening and be windy. A full explanation at 5.
Uecker says he has a deal with Brewers owner Mark Attanasio: "Once I pass on, bring me back every five years, take me around the warning track and take me back to the same place."
As you make your way into Miller Park today, remember the names William DeGrave, Jerome Starr and Jeffrey Wischer. All three ironworkers lost their lives 20 years ago today when the Big Blue crane collapsed while lifting a roof panel into place.
Buzz brought Punky a membership in the "Young Astronauts Club" that included a commemorative packet honoring the Challenger crew. A month later, my parents got me the same packet for my birthday and it remains one of my most cherished possessions.
So apparently, fans in Oakland decided to have a “prom night” at the A’s game tonight and it easily the coolest non-team-sponsored event I’ve seen in sports in quite some time. Way to go,
@lastdivebar
& friends.
🐟 🫧 It’s prom night at
@lastdivebar
! Let’s enchant each other under the sea cheering on our beloved team! Come visit us in LF 138 bleachers as always-we have free hugs!
Now, where in the world is my date?! 🐠 🫧💚💛 👸🏻? 🤴

Considering his comments about Milwaukee from Tuesday morning, figure it was a good time to take a trip down memory lane and revisit the time a certain ESPN talking head decided it wasn't worth actually attending Game 5 of the ECF.
If you grew up in Milwaukee during the 80s, going to
@Brewers
and
@Bucks
games, Bob Betts and Jack Gallo were the “Voices of God” at County Stadium and the Arena so was pretty damn cool to finally meet Mr. Gallo today, randomly at Mass. He’s doing well and still sounds amazing.
May 22, 2017: Cubs postpone vs Brewers due to rain despite sunny, pleasant conditions
May 11, 2019: Cubs play Brewers during constant rain; grounds crew out every half-inning to put drying agent on the infield.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of Craig Counsell's inexcusable decision to give Christian Yelich a day off, which single-handedly eliminated the Brewers' from postseason contention with nearly three weeks left in the regular season.
Sitting in the backyard with my morning coffee and trying to wrap my head around everything happening in our world while two yards over, four kids of three different races are playing and laughing without a care in the world. And that makes me feel a just a little bit better.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a more decent, kind and funny man in my entire life. If there truly is a heaven, rest assured nobody is getting in without the proper credentials.
We lost one of the most genuine people remaining on this earth today, Lou Montgomery. An usher for the
@Brewers
dating back to old Co. Stadium, war veteren & devoted husband of 72 years! Lou worked in the Press Box living a great life, he was 97. RIP watching from your sky box.
First question out of the gate is from
@Steph__Sutton
, who wants to know when Wisconsin football will (finally) take that next step.
“I’m excited about where our program is heading. There’s some exciting news to be shared in the next week or so.”
Since Connor Ingram is a big topic tonight, take a few minutes to read this great story by
@davekallmann
on how the former
@mkeadmirals
battled through something way more important than playoff nerves:
Had Orlando Arcia slid into and/or injured Yelich on that play, I have to think he would have been traded to whatever team Junior Guerra played for in Italy.
The number of tributes to
#PedroGomez
coming from ‘unknown’ local, part-time reporters, wire service stringers, young scribes without a blue check from papers you’ve never heard of might be the most accurate portrait of a person who truly cared about his peers and the profession.
McGee said Chris Hook & Co. helped him make an adjustment in his first bullpen session with Milwaukee, then went out and worked a clean inning his first time out.
As if it wasn’t already shocking that the Brewers and White Sox are playing on Sunday Night Baseball tonight, they’re doing so on a weekend the Yankees and Red Sox are playing each other in what I’ve heard anecdotally is something of a rivalry.
Yall can hate Pat Murphy all you want but the players don’t and at the end of the day that probably mattered more to Matt Arnold than anything said on this app.
Today, MVP
@ChristianYelich
stopped by the hospital to hang out with some of our MVPs (Most Valuable Patients). Jack has been in the hospital since May 19 and watching the Brewers on TV has brought him comfort. Thank you, Christian, for bringing smiles to our kids’ faces.
Kind of lost in all the no-hitter excitement tonight, the victory was also the Brewers’ 48th on the road this season, surpassing the 1982 team for the most road victories in franchise history.

That you posted it without verification first is shameful. If one of you students had submitted unverified and uncredited work, how would that student be graded?
