Thanks Mathew! None of the editorial team is paid, so these £3s go towards costs like Submittable and web hosting, which are far from cheap. We're still unfunded and can't offer to pay guest editors.

Butcher's Dog has geographically limited the submissions pool to the UK and ROI since we began back in 2012. We can't read more than the thousands of poems we already receive.

Rejection is such a loaded word. We only have room to publish 1.8% of the work we receive. So much of it is well crafted, highly imaginative and written with heart. We really wish we had room for more poems. Don't give up.

I know it sucks when your submission doesn't get accepted, but please don't be mean. It's an incredibly shitty part of the job, rejecting people, and not something I do lightly.
