When diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2016 I didn’t imagine I’d see the day my first pamphlet, never mind book, was published. I was afraid because my life expectancy is fluid & scary & something I try not to think about. I made it guys. We made it. Thank you. 💜

Hi everyone! I’m looking to get back into part time work in the healthcare and creative writing fields. Please get in touch if you have any ideas or projects. I have experience working with NHS England as well as charities such as Hospice Uk, Together for Short Lives. #OpenToWork.

A and E staff didn’t even have enough time to clean the resus bed space. There was someone else’s blood in a huge puddle on the floor. There was shit in the bed, which thankfully a paramedic wiped as otherwise, ew. There are ‘bed spaces’ in the corridors with a sign next to.

I’d say 19,000 people waiting 3 days in A&E is a low estimate! I have had it happen twice in the last twelve months. If I hadn’t had my Carer’s with me on one occasion I wouldn’t be here. The assumption was made by the department that I was normally bed bound and couldn’t speak.

Thanks for all kind messages. People are getting more complex and more unwell because a)medicine has gotten so much better (even 30 years ago I’d not be here anymore due to complexities and lack of technology), b) care provision is crap - nursing homes aren’t accompanying.

I’m in hospital (again). With suspected sepsis. (Again.). If you are based in the UK but can’t be bothered to vote:. Do it for the 100 year old man in a and e who has been on a trolley for 48 hours. Do it for me, if I’d had adequate access to my GP I wouldn’t be septic again. Do.

I’ve just cried for the last two days. I am absolutely broken. But I was so fortunate to have had days and days of face to face conversations, and days and days of zoom chats with Kathryn Bevis. She was an amazing human. Her work soared and her humanity shone through even more

Update and advice needed:. I’m an inpatient in an NHS England hospital (not naming it as it’s not staffs fault…) . A ceiling panel of double thickness plywood fell two metres onto my shoulder a few days ago and dislocated my shoulder. It’s ill-fitting but has important valves.

I was first in a corridor labelled mini resus, then mini majors… on a trolley for 36 hours. They had to do ward care. This was in October. It’s way worse now by all reports. I’m on a ward now, but the thing that haunted me was that on the corridor in the way to the wards is.

I'm an A&E consultant and I'm tired after a weekend of nights. But this am, I've handed over what I described as a "good department". This was said genuinely and with no hint of irony. We provided great care and have very short waits to see an A&E doctor, but I'd forgotten how.
