Great athletes have great attitudes about training. Athletes with bad attitudes about training make it impossible to receive the full benefit and have a negative effect on their teammates training. I would rather an athlete stay home than bring negativity to a training session.

The truth about NCAA athletics is +50% of the athletes D-1 are paying a portion to participate because they are in an equivalency sport. Track and field is the most abused sport because the sport has 12.6 men/18 women’s scholarships and counts as 6 sports (XC, In-Outdoor)

It took 10.06 to qualify for the final in the 100M at the NCAA Champs. Two men ran 10.03 and 10.05 but did not qualify on time. By contrast, it took 10.10 to make the final at the 2017 World Champs yet the IAAF does not recognize NCAAs in the world rankings! Go figure!

Athletes never really get over on coaches. They just cheat themselves and their teammates. When you don’t complete the plan coach has, when you dog a rep or a practice, skip cool down or worse skip practice you’re only cheating yourself and your competition will make you pay.

Let me try to put skepticism about the COVID vaccine to rest. I participated in the Pfizer trial and I’m sure I was in the study group based on the minor side effects that I had following my injection. I’m fine and fear of the shot is unwarranted. Get the shot when it you can.

I wish the term “full ride” referring to a scholarship didn’t exist. A ride implies passivity, inactivity, lack of control of one’s destination or direction. Coaches expect aggresiveness, activity, growth and leadership from athletes. That’s a “full drive” scholarship to me.

Why did I participate in the Covid vaccine trial? Because when I see the daily number of Covid 19 deaths increase daily I see 1, 1, 1, 1, 1. I’ve lost an Uncle, a Step Uncle and at least three associates in the track community to Covid 19. That’s why I participated.
