Thanks to
@huddlereport
we have some accountability each year for everyone in the industry. My top-100 has had 86 correct prospects in each of the past three drafts, which was best-in-class the last two years (2022, 2023). Have at it… My Top-100 for the 2024 NFL draft. 🧵
I am going to take some time away to focus on my health and my family. Thank you ESPN for being so supportive and for all the well wishes - I can’t wait to be back on the sidelines soon.
No brainer! There were approximately 12 million viewers on three networks just for Night 1 of this year’s NFL draft. And more than 300k fans in attendance in Kansas City for this weekend’s event. Kiper is the founding father of this whole thing!
The SEC Championship game between Alabama and Georgia has 31 players that I’ve currently given “draftable” grades. UGA’s defense alone has 11 (10 who are playing in Sat’s game). In 22 years of covering the draft, I’ve never had 11 players on a single unit with “draftable” grades
Just want to take a minute to say thank you! The outpouring of support during draft season has been noticed and greatly appreciated.
As for next week’s draft, I’m sitting this one out on TV due to obvious contract limitations but it’s business as usual around here! You can…
Haskins looked great today, as expected. Three things stood out: 1. Best shape of his life (As Bosa said, “He has grown to appreciate the process”). 2. Working hard on off-platform throws (and he showed it off today). 3. Natural charisma.
Ohio State WR Terr McLaurin had a big 1st day of Senior Bowl practice. Fastest max speed of any player here and it showed on a couple 9 routes. He was a special teams’ ace at OSU too! Mid-round pick who should have a long NFL career.
Trying to study four Notre Dame draft prospect for this years class but LB 6 Owusu-Koramoah keeps distracting me! This dude is all over the field on three tapes studied so far.

I’m dying to know (and will find out) the real story on what’s going on with LSU and its star WR Kayshon Boutte. LSU’s blatant lack of interest in getting him involved and Boutte’s obvious frustration was alarming!
After what we’ve seen tonight; I can’t wait to scout Florida QB Anthony Richardson live next week vs Kentucky. Richardson vs. UK QB Will Levis is the best QB scouting matchup of the first month of the CFB season.
Every week watching the Lions I chuckle at all the folks that killed Detroit for its draft in April. Tonight is just a microcosm of the season with TE LaPorta leading the team in receiving, LaPorta and RB Gibbs scoring both TDs so far, and DB Branch making multiple plays.
The clear-cut top-3 QBs in 2023 class are CJ Stroud, Bryce Young and Will Levis. Tyler Van Dyke and Anthony Richardson are loaded with traits but have disappointed. Talking to NFL scouts, these QB’s are rising fast: BYU Jaren Hall, UT Hendon Hooker and Fresno St Jake Haener.
Appreciate you,
@JimNagy_SB
Been talking on the phone a bunch with my guy Kiper but definitely strange not being able to poke the bear on tv. Excited about the next chapter!
Studying
@UMichFootball
offensive prospects this morning (RBs Corum and Edwards, QB McCarthy and OG Zack Zinter) and came across this play of Zinter (65) just tossing dudes!

A lot can happen in the next week. But if it comes down to to OSU and Cincinnati for the No. 4 spot in the CFP, Ohio State is simply better. Two losses might keep them out but I want the
#best4teams
The Vikings don’t make this move unless they’ve already had serious discussions with a specific team re: what it will take to move up for the QB they desire (presumably not named Caleb or Jayden). So is it NE at 3 (for Maye)? Or a team picking a couple/few spots down (for JJ)?
TRADE!
The Minnesota Vikings are moving up in the draft. They will trade with the Houstons Texans. Minnesota will get the 23rd and 232nd pick….Houston will get the 42nd, 188th and 2nd in 2025
As I sit down to watch Packers-49ers, I can’t help but wonder,
@MelKiperESPN
, do you still think I I’m crazy for ranking Jordan Love as QB3 (one spot ahead of Justin Herbert) in the 2020 NFL draft? Enjoy the game, bud!
UGA LB 17 Nakobe Dean has been one of the best players I’ve studied on tape this year. He’s 230 pounds and runs like a WR. HE’s an explosive hitter with great range. And his best trait might be his blitzing ability
Yo
@MelKiperESPN
-I’m gonna miss our heated draft discussions like crazy this year! But our forced on-air breakup has a silver lining for you… at least you don’t have to endure my Jordan Love breakout harassment. I can still hear you screaming, “I like Love, but you LOVE Love”!
Just re-watched tape of CJ Stroud vs. Georgia in CFP semi. It was a loss but OSU dropped 41 on a UGA D that allowed just 14.3 ppg. Stroud played his best game in his biggest moment. His mobility and creativity here is what NFL team’s have been starving to see.
I’m still struggling to process how badly Nick Saban and staff were out-coached last night. Never seen it before! Dabo pressed all the right buttons and Vennables was a star with his pressures on Tua.
Filed to ESPN: Jets trading QB Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers for a 2021 sixth-round pick and second- and fourth-round picks in 2022, per sources.
I’m brainstorming a list of historical draft classes that rival/exceed Seattle’s 2022 haul, which includes OTs Cross and Lucas, RB Walker III and CB Woolen (potential DROY as 5th rd pick). Curious to see which classes I’m missing. Any thoughts?
I know Utah WRSL/RS Britain Covey is undersized and an older prospect but I’d take a Day 3 flyer on this dude. You can’t teach his vision and feel for making sharp cuts in the return game. You either have it or you don’t.
One thing I love about UGA LB 17 Nakobe Dean is that he plays every snap with the same intensity. He also slips off blocks with ease, locates ball in a flash and explodes through ball carriers. He proves every game why he’s the best LB in the country and worthy of a top-10 pk!
Standing 5 yards away from Tua when he was tackled today. So brutal to watch. He’s such an amazing player and everyone who knows him knows he’s a special person. I will be thinking and praying for the Tagovailoa family!
Alabama WR Jameson Williams is ridiculous. Did you see how sudden he was on that double move?? Add his value as a return specialist and as a gunner… I’ll be really surprised if he isn’t a top-20 pick in April.
Is it me or was the energy so different from Clemson’s offense when Cade Klubnik came in the game? I know it was “garbage” time but it just felt like there was more juice.
Back-to -back plays from Minnesota DS Antoine Winfield Jr. on the first drive versus Penn State. Tells you a lot of what you need to know about him as an evaluator!
Michigan DE Aiden Hutchinson is delivering! 2 sacks and drew the holding call on last drive, as well. There are some teams split on Hutchinson and Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux as DE1 in the 2022 class. Hutchinson is making his case so far today.
SDSU TE Dallas Goedert killed Pro Day today. Combo of 6.86 3cone, 4.07 short shuttle, 35” Vert., and 10-1 Broad would be really good for a 200 lb WR. Dallas weighs 257. People complaining about him not running a 40 (post SR Bowl inj) are laughable. He and Hurst easily top 2 TEs
UGA’s James Cook is the most underrated RB in the 2022 draft class. He may never be the every-down starter for an NFL team but he’s such a versatile weapon. Love his vision and twitch as a runner and he’s a legit receiving threat in the slot and out of backfield.

Western Michigan WR D’Wayne Eskridge is a name to get to know. He’s eating some really good DBs alive during practice today. He’s a potential top-50 pick in another loaded WR Class.
Florida State DE 5 Jared Verse’s tape vs. LSU was the best individual effort I saw from an EDGE in a single game all of last season. I can’t wait to see what he has in store as an encore in 2023!
Haskins looked great today, as expected. Three things stood out: 1. Best shape of his life (As Bosa said, “He has grown to appreciate the process”). 2. Working hard on off-platform throws (and he showed it off today). 3. Natural charisma.
Flacco gives the Ravens a better shot to make a comeback today but pulling Lamar creates a long-term mess for Harbaugh. I don’t think he makes a change. You?
Notre Dame RB 23 Kyren Williams is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch this season. So skilled as a receiver and willing enough in pass pro.
