New from @n_hytrek and @Rushthewriter: Sen. Jake Chapman accused Iowa teachers of having a "sinister agenda," so voters responded with an agenda of their own: voting him out of office in favor of Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott We spoke with her and voters: https://t.co/dwVIEQXg77

Iowa needs a leader who is loud and bold in their support of sexual and reproductive health care, and @DeidreDeJear has proven herself to be just that. Make your plan to vote Deidre DeJear for governor this election!

YES! I'm a West Des Moine-r now but ššš to @Josh_Mandelbaum for taking this on.
As a city, we should take the steps we can to safeguard abortion access and protect reproductive freedom. Iāve identified four actions that we can and should take.

I, too, am vexed by this argument.
This argument has always confused me. Mini-theocracies of the American colonial era had different beliefs, andā¦openly oppressed other Christians? Puritans in MA hanged Quakers, CT Congregationalists ran out Presbyterians, etc. Soā¦which Christianity is the Christian founding?

I don't understand why it's okay that PPP loans for corporations were forgiven but it's not okay that low income people get student their student loans forgiven? Where was the outrage then? No really, I'm asking.

Am Iowan. Can confirm.
Iowans are exhausted and fed up with politicians interfering in deeply personal decisions.Ā Ā Governor Reynolds and GOP lawmakers will not stop until there is a complete abortion ban in Iowa. Itās just politics for them and theyāve forgotten about how this will impact Iowans.

Iowa Republicans seriously need to think about if it is worth the political capital to follow through with their constitutional amendment. When it's on the ballot ('23 or '24) we'll only see more momentum for abortion rights.
Last night's victory in Kansas sends the message loud and clear: Americans are fed up with politiciansā attempts to control their bodies and essential health care, and we arenāt backing down.

Kansas! Abortion is a winning issue in the heartland. Full stop. Rural Americans don't want abortion bans.
