Barley #PowderyMildew Blumeria hordei is often accompanied by rusts #LeafRust Puccinia hordei and #StripeRust Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici that most likely came from heavily infected wheat field nearby. This barley variety is known to be permissive to Pst unfection

Rust and powdery mildew are neighbors. #Rust hyphae develop in the mesophyll. The pathogen then injures the epidermis to release urediospores. #PowderyMildew forms a network of hyphae on the leaf surface. LR and YR (pustules) with PM on #barley. PM hyphae and conidia on #wheat
