If you’re concern is the Badgers might hire a coach who leaves for another job because he’s highly successful at Wisconsin you’re not really thinking about this right
Been biting my tongue because it will get me yelled at but Braelon Allen is not the next great Badger RB. He’s not bad, but he’s way more PJ Hill than he is Montee Ball. He can be productive, but if you’re looking for him to pull a JT vs Purdue 2018 this isn’t the guy.
Least favorite thing about this season is Keeanu had an all time great year at interior DL and it’s just diluted by the complete chaos that surrounded it. Will go down as a favorite Badger for me
It’s OK to get excited about Jonathan Taylor running track and all that but don’t act like he’s the first Wisconsin player to shine in multiple disciples
Just want to give a huge shout out to all of the recruiting Reply Guys.
All of your likes, retweets, hashtags, waving Bucky GIFs, links to that 10+ year old Scott Van Pelt video about Madison, and praying hand emojis are what made today happen.
Thank you for your hard work. 🙏
Every photo of Nate Letton makes him look like the bully in an 80s movie who just stuffed the nerd protagonist in a locker and is turning to laugh with his friends.
When Lotti dropped the punt the way in which my wife turned me to and said “You don’t need to watch this anymore because we both know how this ends” made me understand she fully
understands the pain of being a Badger fan.
Was making $380K at Minnesota. The question that I want answered that no one has been able to so far is tell me where they are getting this money all of the sudden. What changed from last year to this year.
There is no more “more with less”. This is “more with more”
Source confirms
#Wisconsin
is hiring Paul Haynes from rival
#Minnesota
for its defensive staff. Haynes served as Minnesota's co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach. Former head coach at Kent State.
@mzenitz
first.
#Wisconsin
just announced Will McDonald has signed as a preferred walk-on. The standout from Hudson had full rides from Kansas and Iowa State but turned those down in order to play for the
#Badgers
My family is getting a little tired of me pointing out TJ Edwards is one of my favorite all time Badgers every tackle he makes because I’m pointing it out a lot
Leo Chenal rightly gets a ton of credit, but the fact the Badgers have one of the best and deepest DLs they’ve ever had doesn’t get enough credit.
Those guys do so much that’s not on a stat sheet. Rodas Johnson is a rotational player but’s a starter just about any other years
With the latest additions I have the Badgers at 91 scholarships. Green cells are portal additions. Red cells incoming recruits. Feel the colors help visualize where the roster changes next year
#Badgers
expect their massive transfer class to make their 2023 season, not break it.
"I feel like everybody we have is needed and they fit in perfectly."
There’s no reason the Badgers can’t get a QB like Cam Rising. He isn’t really an NFL level prospect but can make enough throws and has enough mobility to be an effective part of a balanced offense.
If watching Isaac Guerendo run 73 yards in an untouched straight line is throwing you into a rage about coaching decisions surrounding roster management I’d suggest focusing on basketball until spring
What I’m watching today:
1. Christian Alliegro as a multi-down LB
2. Jake Renfro’s Proof of Life
3. Acker/Yacamelli
4. Last go around for Tanner Mordecai 🥺
Not that you asked for this but you got it
Going to trip my realignment suggestion:
B1G should absorb all of the remaining PAC-12 teams and create an East/West division with the former P12 teams in the west.
Every year have the conference title game played on January 1 at a unique site…let’s say Pasadena.
We’re going to invest way too much in that Allen reception for the next 8 months than we ever rationally should but I want you to know I’m fully on board with it
I keep seeing the TJ Watt TD from yesterday and it makes me wonder how many people saw his pick 6 against Purdue which still stands as one of the greatest defensive plays I’ve ever seen
By my math Badgers are over one scholarship going into portal season. This assumes Nelson & Allen to the NFL and no one taking an extra COVID year.
Interesting note: this season was the first year since at least 2010 that the Badgers didn’t have a walk on QB on the roster
With the addition of Walker the Badgers are currently at 87 scholarships for the fall. No predictions, but I have a hard time seeing this team carrying 8 scholarship RBs or 7 scholly TEs
I love to think he’s sitting on his office looking at the first tweet and then says “oh come on Phil, you can do better than that!”
And then takes 3 minutes to craft the 2nd one
Between JJ Watt’s free agency and Chryst taking over offensive playcalling, Wisconsin sports fans have an amazing opportunity to talk themselves into completely unreasonable expectations about football next year only to have their hopes and dreams dashed in cruel and unusual ways
Really excited for all of these 40 year old guys who didn’t have mortgages/kids/life commitments the last time EA put out a College Football game to realize they don’t have time for this the day after they buy it.
Wisconsin defensive lineman Rodas Johnson, who entered the transfer portal Monday, talks to The Athletic about his decision and his time with the Badgers. ⤵️
1. Every throw across the hashes takes an hour to get there. Don’t know if it’s weather or injury but this is Mertz’s worst game of the year
2. Lean on Guerendo in the 2nd half. You’re not going to sustain drives and might as well give yourself the best chance for the home run
Just want you all to know I officially hit middle age at halftime as I swelled with pride over how much better Wisconsin’s band is than Oregon’s.
If you need me I’ll be posting political memes on Facebook.
@jaypo1961
Quite the blowback here. It’s almost like you’ve spent years amplifying trolls and treating people who read your work dismissively and they’re relishing your misfortune
James Thompson Jr. said TJ Bollers has been playing on the defensive line in bowl prep. Bollers transitioned late in the season. He had been a 270-pound outside linebacker.
Nick Evers has consistently been behind a QB with matching eligibility who is now pushing the presumptive starter halfway through spring. I’m having a hard time seeing this as anything but a positive for everyone involved.
@JimPolzinWSJ
My pushback: the hype right now isn’t around Evers as a player it’s around Fickell as a coach. We’ve been fed the mantra of “more with less” for decades. There is someone new in town who isn’t accepting that. That’s what has people excited, not another 4* QB
At this point you can say Wisconsin is recruiting offensive lineman at a National Title contending level.
Doesn’t change what the team is yet but it’s not insignificant.
A lot of talk about a massive offensive transformation are overblown. A few years ago with Badgers ran 11 personnel more than anything else. They’ve run RPO out of the pistol this year. It’s a change, yes, but it’s not like they’re running the same offense from ‘99
