Thanks to Dr Michelle Yaa Asantewa for running such a great event at the River Ravensbourne Festival in South East London the other day. It was fantastic. She led the river blessing ritual here to honour Mama Osun. What a brilliant day! 🧵⬇️

By the way, the collage of tarmac cowpats is from one street alone: our beautiful Promenade, 110m x36m in its main pedestrianised section. That’s how bad this problem has become! That’s why we’ve acted as we have.
We’ve served a s56 notice on @GlosCC to begin the process of bringing our streets back up to standard. We have no desire to go to court but are prepared to. We’d rather GCC took responsibility for the mess they’ve helped to create by bringing our streets back up to standard.

The old lock-up in Lewisham village (the Watch House) was close to the current site of the clock tower. In 1824, a terrible accident saw a detainee and his brother burned to death inside.
Village lock-ups were once used to hold petty criminals before they were released or sent to trial. ⛓️ They can be found across England and today the majority that survive date from the 18th and 19th centuries. Have you ever spotted one of these buildings?

Fire has been extinguished but new line-side equipment is now being installed at #Brockley. There may be slow introduction of services this evening but currently no trains between Nee Cross Gate and Sydenham. #Overground #Southern #HonorOakPark
🔥 Alongside our friends @LondonFire, our teams are currently on site near Brockley Station, dealing with a lineside fire. ⚡️The fire has damaged the cables that supply the electricity to the railway and the signalling equipment, meaning train services are heavily disrupted in
