#VJDay80 — 6 & 19 Jan 1943, Donbaik, Burma: Havildar Parkash Singh VC braved fierce fire to rescue stranded carriers, driving with one hand & firing with the other, then towed his CO’s blazing vehicle to safety. Fearless courage earned the Victoria Cross. #Sikh #WW2

As VJ Day 80 nears, we honour Naik Gian Singh VC of the 15th Punjab Regiment. In Burma, 2 March 1945, wounded yet undaunted, he single-handedly stormed enemy positions, destroyed an anti-tank gun, and led his men to victory — courage that earned the Victoria Cross. #sikh #vjday80
