Seriously. Name a family that’s doesn’t have someone who is Deaf, hard of hearing, can’t navigate stairs, is low vision or otherwise might need an accommodation or help to access the world around them. This isn’t DEI it’s basic civil society and humanity.

40% of the population of NC lived in an area impacted by the storm. There is no way a state can muster the resources needed to help that many people when something this catastrophic occurs without outside help. #ncga.

States can't afford to create & indefinitely maintain the systems & networks needed to respond to these types of disasters which is why a national response group like FEMA is needed.

And I understand Trump was talking about giving $ directly to states, but FEMA offers response coordination, access to resources nationally, they have back end support and infrastructure.

We now have 12 turkeys at a total cost of less that $70. We will be cooking one each month over the next year. Each month will have a theme for the dinner. Think Cajun Turkey for March (Mardi Gras) w/ Cajun themed sides. Asking the community for some theme ideas. 3/3

During Hurricane Helene we lost everything out of our freezer so we have the space. Over the past 2 weeks I have been making daily trips to the grocery store buying groceries and then a turkey. 2/3.
