Eventually, we agreed she should be an indoor/outdoor cat and everyone was happy, especially Waffle. Fast-forward to today where now she’s now living with two black labs and having the run of the neighborhood.

Waffle worked her way into my heart, and after spending weeks hiding under the bed eventually came out and allowed me to pet her. Having been a stray she was not content with living inside and made it very apparent by scratching and being a bad indoor cat.

Waffle, having been a stray, was not too keen on moving back-and-forth and wanted to be in a more stable environment I think. So the decision was made that Waffle would live at my house and Eleanor would get a 2nd cat for her mother’s house.

Then eventually, Eleanor kept asking to go back to her mom‘s house to pick up “stuff she forgot” which was code for I want to see my cat. So we started bringing the cat back-and-forth between the two houses.

Historically, I had not liked cats and had claimed to be allergic to them. But the cat was going to live at her mother‘s house so I said OK I will help you adopt a cat.

Circa Nov 2021 my wife of 21 yrs came out. Bummer. So I moved out in 2022. My daughter Eleanor (as in Roosevelt, ironic) splitting time between the two houses asked if she could have a cat.

I don’t post on Twitter often anymore because. So I’m going to shift to more of an animal/pet focus. Meet Waffle. Her origin story is exciting to me, boring to others, but worthy of telling.

Not every day you get to host a Navy pilot/astronaut/US Senator at the house & we would gladly have @SenMarkKelly back again. It's tough when you are in the minority, a feeling I know well, but he is working to hold the line against the overreach of Trump. An awesome human being

If we are making Govt more efficient will we now allow the digitization of forms 4473? Will the @ATFHQ be allowed to create a searchable electronic database? Asking for my #2A friends who are concerned about unfettered access to govt info by private citizens.

Seriously. Name a family that’s doesn’t have someone who is Deaf, hard of hearing, can’t navigate stairs, is low vision or otherwise might need an accommodation or help to access the world around them. This isn’t DEI it’s basic civil society and humanity.
