Whenever you hear about the provincial surplus in Alberta remember to take a look at the suffering in our City streets in the form of addictions, mental health, & homelessness. One can only hope the province is ready to reveal a plan to address this needless human misery.

I stand beside our Elders, Matriarchs, and leaders who know our oral understanding of Treaty when they express their concerns with this approach. Particularly about the appearance of giving sovereignty of our Lands, but instead placing us as municipalities - we are Nations.
Of course, that work is far from over. So as we mark National Indigenous Peoples Day and celebrate the achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples across the country, we’ll also continue to move forward as partners. My statement:
