As we are coming to the end of the fall, I am constantly reminded, when working with young people to have a process...and be addicted to that process. There are so many variables for players that if you don't do that, you can't make it to the end effectively.

As a scout, the one thing I often did was complain about coaches calling pitches. It's an old school thought, but one I have to get over. But 1st, I probably have to figure out how to actually use the pitch com. It was interesting for sure, and just one of the many things we talk

The older I get, the more I realize your standards decide your future. Every time you let something slide “just this once,” you train yourself to accept less. That’s how goals erode. That's how principles slip. Set your standards. Hold the line. Especially when it’s hard.

The average college player spends 3,000 hours on their game in 4 years & only 4% of that is in actual games. The rest is grind. It takes mental & physical stamina, toughness and a love for the process. Compete every day, not just when the lights are on. That’s what separates you.

Fact! And it makes putting everything in the proper perspective easier.
Can we all just agree that if you’re playing college baseball at ANY level, you’re a pretty good player. It’s so hard to actually play college baseball in today’s world.
