Stoked to have chatted to @GeraetsNell about cosmetic surgery & motherhood 💉The misogyny and stigma embedded in cosmetic surgery discourse is particularly horrific for mothers, who are told they should "rise above vanity" now that they're mums.

We saw a ‘relative attractiveness’ halo effect: Ps stigmatised recipients less when recipients were more attractive than themselves. Pretty privilege extends beyond absolute beauty; if some1 is RELATIVELY closer 2 beauty ideals than their 'assessor', they too benefit from PP (2).

Glad to see this PhD study finally published!! Spoiler: priming women for intrasexual competitiveness failed to induce negative attitudes towards cosmetic surgery recipients💉(1).
