Day 2 of the WY Rural Teacher Corps retreat started with a visit to Kelly Elementary and finished with exploring the Great Yellowstone Ecosystem as part of the story of this place #WYRTC

Day 1 of the #WYRTC annual retreat included a drive to Teton Science Schools w/ a school visit to Ft. Washakie School to learn about the ways they incorporate Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho into their curriculum and our annual photo-op with the World’s Largest Jackalope

Today with #WyRTC was filled with school visits showcasing possibilities for rural education - examples of small learning communities, place-based education, student-centered learning and curricula, and amazing, committed educators modeling what it is to be a great rural teacher

Part of the #WyRTC retreat is seeing the many possibilities of rural education. At today’s school visit to Mountain Academy in Victor, Idaho, corps members learned about cultivating community, place-based ed, the importance of play, and their farm and garden program @UWyoCoED

The WY Rural Teacher Corps retreat finished with a day of school visits. Second stop was Summit Innovations. Corps members heard from students and staff about the importance of a small, student-centered school community, and authentic connections w/ students #WyRTC @UWyoCoED
