Hello friends,
It may not come as a surprise but we’re very sad to announce that Bloody Scotland will not be taking place in Stirling this year due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.
Have we mentioned that we have...
⭐️ Val McDermid
@valmcdermid
⭐️ Ian Rankin
@Beathhigh
⭐️ ...and Stephen King (!)
@StephenKing
on our programme? We are so excited to have these absolute stars.
🎟
We were saddened to learn that we have lost a literary legend as M. C. Beaton passed at the end of 2019. We last welcomed her to Bloody Scotland in 2018 with Ashley Jensen to celebrate her Agatha Raisin series. Thoughts are with family, friends, & those touched by her many books.
Congratulations to everyone on the McIlvanney Prize 2023 long list. How many have you read? Who would you like to see on the shortlist, leading the torchlit procession on the opening night of the festival?
Hopefully we'll be seeing you for our 10th anniversary in Stirling on 17th - 19th September 2021!
Thank you for your support of our festival, authors, chairs, tech staff, sponsors & many more. ❤️

Tonight we’ll hae both a toast and a frown,

But lest our sorrow be mistook,
We're content staying in with a good crime book 😉

We're delighted that this year was our biggest year yet - 9985 ticket sales, over 17% up on last year. Here's our new favourite photo of
@doug_johnstone
again to express our excitement.
We’re very sad to hear about the death of Peter Robinson, a great writer who appeared a number of times at the festival, most recently in 2019 (when this portrait was taken by
@paulreichphoto
). Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
Psst. We have some

dates for your calendar. As in, your next calendar.
