Altcoins (and side chains) can be much more useful to humanity than we see with the likes of Dogecoin or even Namecoin. Full disclosure: I also like dogs and memes. 😂

However, not all unsolved problems have a single finite solution, just mathematical provable undiscovered unknowns. Gapcoin has been described as inefficient in regards to finding primegaps, a bit like spinning around and hitting a 'random' target around every 2.5 mins.

@lost_dogz @Arthur_van_Pelt @Tak_Horigoshi @IAmNotMyself1 @CryptoDevil @CounterflyChick @btckershi This is not to say that #Bitcoin and gapcoin can be merged mined (largely due to differing block targets ofc), but instead to provide an example of how merged (AuxPoW) type mining could be utilized, simply requiring some "bells and whistles" addons and/or optimizations.
