Many former followers have already abandoned X and fled to BlueSky but clearly the rest of you are still on this sinking ship because there is no Bird Hybrids at Bsky. Well I have some good news: there is now a Bsky Bird Hybrids feed! Come and join us:

Well this is niche. Cinnamon Teal x Eurasian/Green-winged Teal hybrid if I’m not mistaken. I’m not a big beer drinker but I’m quite tempted by this one.
TEAL //. The wait is finally over 🤩, get Andy's second instalment of ‘The Duck Series’, Teal, 5.4% Double Dry Hopped Pale Ale. If you loved Mallard, you are sure to love this one too! 🦆. Order before noon for next-day beers fresh to your door 🔗

Neck shape recalls Great White Egret but can we rule out leucistic Grey Heron? Those is one of those birds that I suspect would be easier in life than from photos.

The icing on the cake of what was already a thoroughly enjoyable read were two articles on hybrids - the long-staying Mallard x Eider that we’ve featured here a few times and one I hadn’t heard about before, an apparent Blackbird x Fieldfare hybrid in Yorkshire last October.
The latest issue of British Birds is now out with papers on vagrant Nearctic landbirds, Bullfinches in orchards, breeding Bee-eaters in Britain, short papers on hybrids, @bbrc news and more!.➡️📷@puffinpassion

Bird of the trip I reckon. Beats all those pesky pelicans anyway.
Bit taken aback by this today while guiding at Lake Kerkini, Northern Greece for @OrioleBirding - hybrid Grey x Purple Heron! Mega looking thing and the first time I’ve ever seen one. A proper mash up! @BirdHybrids
