#HurricaneHumberto and #HurricaneImelda are tracking toward #Ireland & the #UK this weekend — bringing destructive winds, flooding & heavy rainfall. The tropics keep generating these storms, and under the current conditions, the systems are swinging back into the North Atlantic &

Plankton, which lie at the base of the marine food web and are essential to life on Earth and are responsible for half of the oxygen production on Earth are at huge risk as humans emissions warm the ocean and turn the ocean more acidic

Nos deja Jane Goodall, a los 91 años. Una vida dedicada a comprender y proteger a los chimpancés, y a recordarnos que formamos parte de la naturaleza. Su mirada cambió la nuestra para siempre. Gracias por tanto ❤️

Drone video captured homes that collapsed into the ocean on North Carolina's Outer Banks on Tuesday amid rough surf from dual hurricanes off the Southeast coast. Five homes fell within a 45-minute period on Tuesday afternoon, and a sixth fell overnight. https://t.co/f8zQoRYVLd

There is a lot of misinformation out there about Arctic sea-ice volume. No, volume is not at an all-time low or even an all-time monthly August low. Yes, volume is 3rd lowest on record for the month of August, behind 2012 & 2019. September data will be out in about a week.

The seas aren’t “stealing” our freshwater. We’ve drained and paved the land—grazing, logging, development, aquifer depletion—so the water rushes to the ocean. Mega-dry zones are ominous, but they’re no mystery.

The current climate is highly unstable and is heading for a hothouse state, forced ('pushed over the edge') by the greenhouse gases we have added to the atmosphere. Graph from Planetary Health Check 2025 See insightful @KNMI tipping point visualisation below

Great visualization of something terrible, a climate tipping point. This shows how a rainforest can tip into rapid deforestation with longer droughts, as global warming worsens. Similar tipping points can cause changes in ocean currents and ice sheets👇 https://t.co/Ux6zsJQlNU
