So, what does this mean for you? It means that, especially for larger publishing sites, it's crucial to be more selective and discerning (dare I say vigilant?) when it comes to the content you publish/invest in.

Now, I know that this isn't an exactly groundbreaking observation, as it's always been recommended by Google to stay within your niche. However, I believe that the consequences of not following this best practice are becoming (much) more grave.

Google has been rolling out a series of updates, causing a notable impact on the SERPs. Based on my own (albeit early) SERP analysis and the observations of other SEOs, it's becoming increasingly clear that websites with a strong focus on domain expertise are the ones winning.
