This misses the point entirely. Canterbury Cathedral has pulled off a masterstroke here. They’ve single-handedly made graffiti UNCOOL. Now all bored teenagers will look at this and hopefully stop tagging their crap on public buildings, lest they themselves are deemed uncool.
Most of us have to look at graffiti every day. But very few of us can visit a cathedral every day. Just one reason why this art installation in Canterbury Cathedral is boring, and neither transgressive nor interesting.

I think Digital ID cards are a great idea. Let’s test it by introducing them for all MPs, former MPs, members of the House of Lords, all city Mayors, and every single member of the police force. No one else yet. Then, after 10 or 15 years, we can think about expanding it.
