This is the end of
@Big12Refs
. After 10 years and 9,000 tweets, we’ve reached the end of an era. We operated this account for the love of the game (mostly because no one would pay us) and hope you enjoyed having fun with us along the way. Thank you for all of the memories.
In 10 years, someone is going to revolutionize college athletics by forming a conference of similar-sized schools located near each other geographically.
If you live in Oklahoma and tweeted @ us “we can’t wait to get out of this conference” in the last six months, we’d like to interview you on a study we’re doing on the highs and lows of life.
Here’s the most accurate map we’ve seen so far. Red is for states with Big 12 schools. Blue is for states without Big 12 schools. And brown is for any state without a football program.
Listen Bob, if you think you’re going to waltz back in here after all these years and steal our hearts again and get the same calls you were used to getting then you are 100% correct.
Thank you to the
@DMRegister
for being more terrible at their jobs than we are. It feels good finally achieving our goal of only being the second-most hated group in Iowa.
We’ve decided to name Carson King as an honorary Big 12 referee for his amazing efforts in raising over $1 million for sick children. He will be invited to miss an obvious holding penalty at the game of his choice this season. Congrats Carson!
Last night was a learning experience for Kansas. It’s important not to overreact to an aggressor. As for K-State, we have no choice but to recommend the death penalty. Let’s all just thank goodness De Sousa was there with a chair to protect all those innocent fans.
Definitely some freedom of movement fouls in there. Maybe a block and/or charge. Goaltending? Is that a call that we can make here? Just thinking out loud.
If you start the Dana Holgorsen “WVU’s Big Wins In The Big 12” highlight video right at midnight, you’ll be done at 12:01 and Holgorsen will be the coach at Houston.
Our favorite part of being the impartial referees for a KU tournament championship is getting up on that ladder and cutting down the nets. We earned it.
Nebraska football today is like running into your high school girlfriend at the 20 year reunion and she’s put on 100 pounds and wants to talk to you about her new Amway business.
