I found out that my lab has actually found my handwritten lab notebook helpful. I guess that proves that the best lab notebook is the one you use 📕📗📘 I could not for the life of me remember to update an electronic one but that paper one sure has the volumes down to a uL!

Lastly, this work would not have been possible without stellar mentorship from @AlanRHauser1 and an all-star team @Arghavan_Aria, @TKochanPhD, @ChrisAxline, @egonozer, @kelly_bachta, and others. A huge thanks for helping me achieve this step in my MD-PhD! https://t.co/7FEl1YqX22

We also found unique colonization genes: hha (transcriptional regulator) and scrY (sucrose porin). And also validated a gene which, upon deletion, conferred a colonization advantage: malT (maltose metabolism regulator). 9/12
