It is so unfortunate that when teachers educate their students about racism, some parents call it āindoctrinationāāand when teachers DO NOT educate their students about racism, those same parents call it āeducation.ā
@jlspooney @JasonReynolds83 @DrIbram I spent a lot of time in tears yesterday reading the emails of angry parents accusing me of trying to indoctrinate my students with this book. I cried when I told some of my students that we couldn't continue. They were upset. They still want to read it. "Please do," I said.
