On Twitter, a Chicago Teachers Union leader rallied teachers to refuse to go back to the classroom to 'stay safe.'
On Instagram, on the same day, she posted pictures poolside in Puerto Rico.
@WGNNews
It's been nearly 24 hours since we first contacted
@CTULocal1
about one of their union leaders posting poolside pics from Puerto Rico while at the same time arguing it's unsafe for teachers to return to the classroom.
The response: Silence.
To all the people in Britain who keep tweeting me thinking I’m your rogue member of parliament... you’re looking for this ⬇️⬇️ guy. And he’s really really sorry. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

1) Both men are African-American
2) At least 1 of them is connected to the “Empire” show

Let’s not lose sight of the fact a big headline is not that Jussie Smollett lied about a hate crime, it’s that the Cook Co. State’s Attorney’s office quietly dropped charges in 2019 w/no admission of guilt. It took a special prosecutor - and nearly 3 years - for actual justice.
I can assure you I am not a publicity seeker.
And while we’re at it...
I can also assure you I have no idea what or who “Farage” is...
I always enjoyed eating in school...
...and I can also assure you I’m not a member of Britain’s parliament. I’m a TV reporter in Chicago.

is a publicity seeker like Farage. How about we just ignore the little sh*t?
WGN Investigates has obtained an image of the suspected parade shooter dressed as a woman. Police say he wore the disguise to aid in his escape.

Since it’s just about morning in London it’s probably time for another reminder: I’m not the Ben Bradley who is a British member of parliament in favor of vasectomies for the poor.

Kim Foxx recused herself from the

I was reading a few newspapers at a neighborhood diner this morning when someone paid my bill.
When I went to thank the guy, he said “I’ve seen your reports & posts throughout the pandemic - and I’ve seen the grief you get for it. Please know your work is appreciated.”
Wow.
I see a lot of people who like to respond to my Covid posts by saying less than 1% of Americans have died from Covid (the number is 755,000).
There were roughly 800 murders in Chicago last year in a city of 2.71 million. That's .029%. Should we also not care about that?
Police say Aurora shooter had 6 prior arrests for traffic & domestic violence issues. He also had a 1995 conviction in Mississippi for aggravated assault. Despite that he was issued an Illinois FOID card in 2014 and bought a gun. 1/2
A viewer wrote to ask why we pulled out of President Trump’s news conference this afternoon. I suspect some of you may have similar questions about whether this is evidence of “bias” so I thought I’d share my response..

A heartbreaking development to a story we reported last night about a toddler found alone in the aftermath of the Highland Park parade shooting.
His parents, Irina and Kevin McCarthy have now been identified as two of the people killed.

The boy has been reunited with his grandfather; but we have yet to hear the fate of his parents.

After receiving FOID card, shooter applied for concealed carry permit in 2014. That's when his 1995 conviction was discovered & FOID card revoked.
RED FLAG: It does not appear his Smith and Wesson handgun was confiscated. "He was not supposed to be in possession of that firearm"
With 86% of the vote counted, Eileen O’Neill Burke leads Clayton Harris in the race to replace Cook Co. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. Noteworthy because Foxx, board president Preckwinkle and Mayor Johnson’s backers supported Harris.

I see people tweeting at me suggesting we are over-inflating fear of Covid.
17,000 *more* Illinoisans and 300,000 *more* Americans have died this year than last. Most (not all) are Covid deaths.

After recent protests shut down major Chicago highways, there's a new proposal to charge demonstrators who obstruct roadways for more than 5 minutes with a felony.
Different scenario: Wife goes missing. Crying husband organizes search parties, provides compelling details about the situation. That's what we report. Time goes by and cops finally determine the husband killed her. Should we have been reporting from day 1: "He likely did it!"
J. Smollett case had plenty of red flags, but media was too attached to storyline (& victimhood) to see/admit them. Once again, journos dedicated more to proving *themselves* virtuous than to reporting facts botch the story. It’s tiresome & won’t change.
Q: Do you think President Trump did anything wrong on Jan. 6?
A: I’m going to be perfectly honest with you I’ve been so focused on the state of Illinois and I will remain focused on the state of Illinois.
First class flights, fine dining, a $13,000 hotel bill in New York and a $9K stay at the Four Seasons… all billed to taxpayers.

For the first time since admitting its first Covid-19 patient on March 11, 2020 Loyola University Medical Center reports it did not have any Covid patients in its care yesterday.

Here's the thing about the governor’s "stay-at-home" order:
It sounds scary; but it's essentially what most responsible people have been doing for the past week. You'll still be able to go out for groceries, gas, meds and essential work.
I’d like to propose a new rule for the CEOs of all companies involved in customer service:
You should be required to spend at least 1 hour each week calling your 800-number and attempting to resolve a problem.
As you scroll through your social media feed & see all of the understandable concern, please also take a moment to remember: The sun still rises. Our loved ones are still in our lives. Our community is compassionate.
And this uncertain time shall pass.
