That's the question at the heart of this case in Idaho. Critics have zeroed in on the sentencing judge — and the state's judicial branch said he and his family have received threats fueled by “misinformation” about the role he played in the case:

A 22yo former baseball player at BUY was accused of sexually abusing a relative. The parties entered into a mediation and reached a plea deal under which he would not have to register as a sex offender. But the victim later asked the judge to reject the deal. Who is in the wrong?

The judge asked Kardashian if she was physically harmed in the robbery. She said she was "grabbed and dragged into the other room and dropped on the hard floor, but not a physical hit." She said she was "terrified" when the robbers pointed a gun at her and it left her traumatized

Kardashian tells the judge that she suspected one of the robbers was a father because he communicated to her during the robbery that if she was quiet, she would be okay. But when he pulled her toward him and she was naked under her robe, she thought she read the situation wrong.

She is in tears and is sharing new details about her experience of the robbery. “I absolutely did think I was going to die,” she told the judge. Earlier, she said she initially thought the assault was a terror attack and it took her a while to realize it was a jewelry heist.

Kim Kardashian arrived right on time inside the Voltaire courtroom, flanked by five bodyguards, her lawyer and her mother/manager Kris Jenner. She is dressed in a black suit and wearing what appears to be a shiny diamond necklace and earrings.

Media interest in the trial has been high but hundreds of journalists began lining up outside the court today as early as 5:30 am for a spot in the Voltaire courtroom. Kardashian's French lawyers said she "wishes to attend the trial in person and confront those who attacked her."

Simone Harouche-Bretter said she is testifying because she wants to speak her peace and for "justice to be served." She said Kim Kardashian's life has radically changed since the robbery and the star never goes anywhere alone and has lost her "sense of freedom."

The first testimony comes from Simone Harouche-Bretter, Kardashian's friend and stylist, who was with her in Paris and was asleep downstairs when the robbery began. She said she woke up to the sound of men shouting and Kardashian screaming, "'I have babies and I need to live.'"

I have never seen Paris like it is now. Residential neighborhoods are quiet and peaceful. You can walk into the most popular restaurants without a reservation and get a table. Parisians who stayed are in a good mood and cheering for swimming superstar Leon Marchand. A dream!
