The next DG of the BBC should - ideally - be a journalist, preferably with experience as an editor, who has worked in broadcasting. Independent minded, certainly, but also sensitive to public concerns about “woke” bias. So, with all due humility, why not @piersmorgan ?

What's disgusting is sending 11,000 bailiffs to harass the people of our city in just one year.

We’ve literally passed a new policy to ensure that people facing hardship don’t face bailiffs but get support. They’re quoting figures for the previous financial year where the policy we inherited applied. It’s almost like you don’t know the facts, but just tweet for vibes?

This is a great decision. This Tory policy was never going to work, glad we’re driving this forward.
I am abolishing Police and Crime Commissioners. For over a decade, they have overseen our police forces but have failed to provide the sufficient democratic oversight they were set up to do. A change that will save us millions and see money reinvested into frontline policing.
