Probably a very hungry, grumpy snake. Super dry skin too. Cage aggressive. If you only take them out to feed that's going to be their response. Also, could have been smelling rodents if they fed other snakes. Also could just be an asshole, but that looked unexpected. Lol

I'm sorry to say but there are plenty of hospitals that have turned poor people away who have literally died in the ER waiting room trying to get help.
