Saturday will be a huge effort by me to make the game v Millwall. I can't believe @swfc have offered us a box again after I couldn't make the last one. Once only offer I thought, I was wrong. This is incredible and I can have friends with us too. Can't tell you much I love this.

Well. I'm about to set off for Wembley to see #swfc and its taken on bigger meaning now as I was diagnosed with cancer on Saturday. I need this. I need a window out of this cancer shit. My head is a mess but I hope this will help. Just give everything you have. EVERYTHING. 💙💙.

Today's the day. Back to Hillsborough to see @swfc v Millwall and in the box provided so very kindly by the club. Its gonna take some organising from our end so I don't get too tired but it's still all systems go. Friends and family with us including a rare visit by Mrs Beastie💙.

Update on my cancer situation. having been to oncology, it is now confirmed this is terminal, and if I do nothing, I have 4 to 6mths left. If I take chemo then maybe a year. If I can get on a trial maybe longer and who knows. Immunotherapy, which is very rare for a fit 2yrs.

Well that didn't go well. Op was cancelled once they got inside and found it had spread and is now rated terminal. Oncology next week to plan way forward, such as it is, but that was a huge blow. Not sure if I'll make another #swfc game but will try just to see this new side.

@swfc offered us a box for game tomorrow which absolutely warms my heart so much, I can't tell you. Makes me very emotional, even more so because we can't make it. I'm just not up to it but my next target is now Millwall and I will keep making those targets. Thank you to my club.

CANCER UPDATE 6MONTHS. Well my friends, things haven’t been going well and this cancer continues to have me in its grip. I've used the word relentless often and it continues with its relentless pursuit of me. I dont know what I've done to piss it off this much but it must be bad.

For those that aren't on my Facebook. The scan results were good today. Treatable. "A sizeable lump" referred to the cancer and not me for a change. Another scan this week to make sure and a long old year ahead but that's better than I was thinking at 6am this morning.

Probably the best game of footy at Hillsborough since Brighton in the play offs and without doubt against the best team at S6 in absolutely yonks. #swfc just when ya think you know what to expect, they go and do that. Wonderful, wonderful stuff from the manager, players and fans.

Thursday Oct 19th, 7am. Operation. Time to get this piece of shit cancer out of my body, hopefully, once and for all. 6 to 8hr operation. That will be the longest sleep and most pain-free period I've had in months and that alone will be worthwhile.

Well I've done it, I've bet on Wednesday to win. Feel so chuffin good about #swfc now ya know. Even if it's a losing bet today this is by far the best chance of a great future we've had in many, many years, you can feel the mood shift in fans. Incredible turnaround.

Beastie left us over the festive period, his favourite time of year, in the arms of my Mam. I’m finding it difficult to talk about him in the past tense, if I’m honest. I’m finding it difficult to tell people that we have lost such a beautiful, wonderful person.

Morning after chemo and the polar opposite of last time. Got ahead with the anti sickness mess and painkillers and feel great today. Not getting carried away as it changes by tge hour and has a way of sleeping ya back to earth but chuff me, this is a huge plus day #fuckcancer.

It's grim. 2024 will more than likely be my last year, that's the reality, HOWEVER, I'm in the fight and I WILL fight this thing. I'm not an idiot though, this fight is rigged in favour of Cancer and that's the highly likely winner but I'm not going easily.

The best news #swfc have delivered in a very long time and unusually, very progressive of us. This is a young bloke going places and I know the Wednesday way is think otherwise but he has all the attributes we need to become a very good club. So chuffin excited. but BE PATIENT!!.

Today I go into Hospital for an early start op tomorrow, 7am. I thought it was 6 to 8hrs but since told its now 10hrs. I'm shitting it. Dont get me wrong, I get a nice long pain free sleep which I havent had in such a long time and no matter what. .

I keep chuffin telling everyone that football is about more than the score or the performance, its much more than that. It was underlined today both on and off the pitch. That's as bad as I can ever remember from us, truly awful performance but it didn't matter, not one bit. .

@richardosman It's exactly the same with on board train staff, ticket inspectors etc. That interaction is part of it all, part of the enjoyment of a journey. Without them we are simply stepping onto a moving pavement.

I see Adam Reach has won his first award for player of the season. This from Wise Old Owls. Great decision. If he doesn't win this from every #swfc group this season ya chuffing nuts and need ya bumps felt. During our most difficult times he's been incredible and so consistent.

There's some sour chuffers about calling themselves footy fans. Blathering on about us thinking we've already beaten Barnsley. I've not seen a single #swfc fan say that. We've enjoyed being the focus of WORLD attention. That won't disappear, even if we lose. That game is history.

I was proud of Wednesday today. We played some great footy and more than that, even though we lost 2 key players at key times, we battled hard and we bossed them in the second half against the odds. No way was that a 3-1 loss game.

I have targets. My ultimate is my grandsons 16th July 26th 2025. It's a ridiculous pipe dream, but if I could sign a contract now, I would. Closer , Millwall game next but if I don't make it move to the next home game, I NEED to make one to see Danny's team.

Quick update on the cancer situation. I'm m in a really good place at the moment, certainly mental health wise. Still bits of pain and it likes to remind me it's still there with sudden jolts of it but not complaining at any of it right now. Just waiting on scan results. .

Hopefully the last dose of chemo today. Each time it's been increasingly worse so not looking forward to this at all but it gets me closer to the end. I say 'hopefully' because you never know with cancer, it waits for you to lower your defences then it pounces.

We’ve had some fantastic times ruined by 90 minutes of football and very rarely, watched some decent footie as well - culminating in the Miracle of Hillsborough & Play Off final wins which got us through the first initial shock of diagnosis.

Not just football with Hollie, but in every aspect of life we have become close and the bond grown. I know lots of blokes have the same thjng going on now with daughters, cherish those moments, there is nothing better.

Being the dad to 2 great kids, Stephen and Hollie, most of you know Hollie but it was a joy being their dad watching them grow up and still is. Steph moved away and we grew apart but the bond that grew between me and Hollie was something beyond special. .

Got a call about my scan results "bad news I'm afraid. It's got bigger and its spread" I spent the next 2hrs telling family and friends that it was pretty much end of days. another call 2hrs later from same Doc "I may have made a mistake and it isn't as bad as I said it was".

Finally, a full week later, I am emerging from chemo round 2. I definitely spoke too soon last time. Its still been easier than round 1 but chuff me did this bite me back after the update. Its been a hard week but again, I'm ready to take it on again next week.

I wasn't impressed with Fulham at all. A couple of seasons ago they were a lovely team to watch and played some good footy, arguably with a lesser squad, but this isn't a nice team at all. I don't think they were as good as QPR either, who remain the best side so far.
