The retro rubbish our volunteers find on beach cleans is a stark reminder that litter takes a long time to break down and can exist in our environment for many years 😢 Take a look at these old skool items found during this year's #GreatBritishBeachClean. 1/2 šŸ‘‡

The magnitude of glacial collapse in the Alps is hard to grasp! 😲 Remember Sept 2022 when Tsanfleuron Pass was first ice-freed? Now it looks like this... 😱 And for context, there was at this location in 2008 at least 35m ice thickness connecting the 2 parts! 🧊 šŸŽ„Harsh Beria

Years of teaching fieldwork have taught me that for either familiar or unfamiliar ā€œevaluateā€ questions, it’s really only these four questions matter:

It looks like another lovely warm, dry, sunny weekend ahead, so we're asking everyone please: Do not light fires and no BBQs. Keep ewes, lambs and ground nesting birds safe by keeping dogs on a lead. Take your litter home. Have a great weekend.

Making the most of the weekend? Do your bit this weekend to keep Wales safe. Dispose of cigarettes safely. Only use BBQs where it’s clearly allowed. Never light fires in public spaces. Wildfires can spread fast, threatening lives, nature, and homes. A little care goes a long way
