Happy to say I'm officially a Ph.D. candidate! It helps when you have amazing committee members @TheSladeLab @KylieAllenVT @Biochem_Anne @Lahondere_Lab and the best advisor @JustinLemkulVT
It has been an eventful week in the lab! @amgoodberlet passed her qualifying exam, @jmaemontgomery gave a nice departmental seminar yesterday, and today @ligilpineda passed her prelim exam to advance to Ph.D. candidacy! Congrats to all!

Creating this mentorship program has been an incredible experience! Especially with the help of @nlyons77 @jmaemontgomery @BrittanyhVT3 and Spenser Stone. We hope this program will help the students joining the @vtbiochem program have a great start to their grad school journey!
Last week was the wrap-up of a pilot mentorship program put together by the BcGSA! We want to help our first years with the adjustment to grad school and provide a way for them to have a support system during the transition. (1/3)
