Within our extensive archives 📖 we hold some of our earliest admission records from the early 1800s. Each record includes not only why the child was coming into care BUT also a statement from the child in their own words about their circumstances. 2/

😍 We've launched a refreshed #Voice & #LivedExperience Approach! It: 🔎 clarifies terms we use 💬 provides a rights-centred 'plan-do-review' framework 🌈 helps makes sense of the ways we work with children & young people We're excited to implement it across the charity! 💚

AND - in the true spirit of the week - we had 6 young people themselves share their own views, experiences, tips and suggestions about how to better involve young people in our recruitment processes 🥰 #CoProWeek #CoProductionWeek

'Nothing about us, without us', to coin the phrase! Centring, listening and responding to the voices and experiences of children and young people should always be central to decision-making - that's why it's one of our @barnardos foundations 🙌

Really interesting discussion at @SLGInvolvement today about ‘breadth vs depth’ in working with those with lived experience, and how this looks/feels in different organisations — what works & what doesn’t.
