This term, KS1 girls have been taking part in a girls only after school football club. Today was the final session. The girls have loved being active with their friends, learning new skills and scoring goals @CommunitySUFC @ForgeSSP

On Tuesday night, Ballifield won an award for Youth Engagement at the Sheffield Schools Get Active Awards. The award was for how we listen to our children through pupil voice and use their ideas to help promote physical activity. @ForgeSSP @LinksSSP @ArchesSSP @PointsLN

This half term, every class in KS2 have had special first aid lessons from A and D First Aid. They have covered all the key PSHE first aid learning for their year group and life saving CPR. Today, Y5s looked at bleeding and choking. @AandDfirstaid

Y6 took to the streets this morning as part of their good and bad parking project. They were looking for cars parked safely and politely reminding people the rules of the road. They enjoyed spreading a message of safety near roads @SY_STARSAwards @SYSaferRoads

Children from Nurture took part in a special alternative sports trip at the Canon Medical Arena. They took part in scooting, archery, wheelchair sports and speed stacking. They loved trying new sports and finding new ways to get active. @ForgeSSP

Children in Y6 had a visit from the HSBC Future Coders program. They taught Y6 digital skills, including coding. They talked about careers in coding and had a go at technical coding skills and developed their problem-solving abilities. @HSBC_UK

We had a special visit from Councillor Ben Miskell to discuss active travel and pollution around school. He was interviewed by Y5 children about the benefits of active travel. This was followed by an energetic assembly about pollution @TeamModeshift @benmiskell

Y4S are having a great time at Thornbridge. We've been so busy enjoying ourselves we forgot to post a picture. They are all raring to go for their afternoon activity of either exploring the mines or completing the Thornbridge challenge. @thornbridgeout

This afternoon, our Junior Road Safety Officers met representatives from the council to discuss good and bad parking outside of school. They created posters and tickets to promote good parking and to encourage active travel where possible @sccactivetravel @SY_STARSAwards
